WHAT IS CO-OP?

Co-op is a simple, effective and affordable way for manufacturers to support the retailers that sell their product, by sharing in the cost of advertising those products.

Manufacturers know advertising sells, and that it takes many weeks of advertising for the image of their product to produce a sale. They understand that advertising can be expensive.

Many manufacturers support their retailers by contributing “co-op” funds when the retailer advertises the manufacturer's product. The amount the vendor provides can be based on a percentage of the retailer’s purchases or a flat annual amount.

With the additional co-op advertising dollars, retailers can now compete more cost-effectively in the marketplace. Co-op revenue can add thousands of dollars to the retailer’s advertising budget.
